HeyisAI reads your mail the way you would if you had the time, and says the part a filter cannot: this does not match anything else in your life.

It brings together the things already scattered across your accounts and your device, your email, your calendar, your documents and your photos, and lets you ask about your own life in plain language instead of hunting through apps. Questions like “did I ever pay that invoice?” or “what does my Thursday look like?” are answered from your own information, with the sources it drew from.
ChatGPT knows the internet but nothing about you, and it starts every conversation from zero. Siri can set a timer or open an app, but it cannot reason across your inbox, your calendar and your files at once. HeyisAI is built around your own data: it reads the sources you connect, keeps a private memory of them on your phone, and answers from that. The trade-off is deliberate. It is not a general-purpose chatbot, it is an assistant that actually remembers your life.
On-device AI means the model that reads your data runs on the phone itself rather than on a company server. Your photos and the files you choose to share are understood locally and never leave the device. It matters because the alternative is uploading the most personal things you own to someone else's computer and trusting a policy. With on-device processing, the privacy boundary is enforced by where the code runs, not by a promise.
Connecting Google is optional, and HeyisAI asks for read-only access. It requests the gmail.readonly scope, so it can find and summarise your own mail, receipts, bills, bookings and order confirmations, but it can never send, delete or modify a message. For Google Drive it requests only drive.metadata.readonly, which is file names, types and dates, never the contents of your files. You can disconnect at any time in the app or from your Google Account permissions page.
Data that lives on your phone, your photos and the on-device files you share, is processed by the on-device model and is never uploaded, under any setting. If you turn on the optional cloud features for faster answers or web search, only the content needed for that one request is sent, and it is not retained afterwards. Nothing is sold, nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is used to train AI models.
At launch you can connect Gmail, Google Drive, your phone's calendar, the documents you pick from your device, your photos and Maps. Each one is a switch you control and can turn off at any time. Your calendar is read from the one already synced to your phone rather than through the Google Calendar API, so it needs your device's permission and no extra Google access.
Yes, that is coming with launch. HeyisAI will flag suspicious email that got past your spam filter, the convincing kind written to survive it, and point out charges that do not match your normal spending. It works on your email only, using the same read-only Gmail access described above, and never reads your text messages.

Yes. You can disconnect any source, turn cloud processing off, erase everything held on your device, and delete your account along with its server-side record, all from inside the app under Settings. The Data and Account Deletion page on this site sets out exactly what is removed and when.
